Val Isenhower

My passion for photography focuses on seeing and photographing meditative scenes which allow viewers to enter into the picture, to calm their spirits and to still their minds. They are invited to see themselves in relationship with the photo. I try to provide a space for reflection in our too busy world.

My work is published in magazines, appears on the cover of two books published by Upper Room Books and has been used in other media forms. I was awarded best in category at the Red River Fine Art and Wine festival in 2005. I offer workshops on “Photography and Spirituality” across the country and publish a Spirituality and Photography electronic newsletter. I co-authored two books on spiritual discernment published by Upper Room Books. I am an American Baptist pastor serving as Executive Director of Water in the Desert Ministries as well as being a photographer. I combine my eye for photography with the ministry for spiritual renewal and formation.
