APG Workshops

Photography is a journey of the heart and soul. It is a creative outlet for your inner artist. The best part is, the more you improve your skills, the easier it is to enter that meditative state where nothing else exists in that moment except you and your camera. Here is your opportunity to improve your skills and take your art to the next level.

The Albuquerque Photographers’ Gallery is now offering workshops for photographers of all experience levels, covering many different topics. Learn and from our pool of talented, professional photographers.

Classes will be held in our gallery unless otherwise noted:
Plaza Don Luis, Old Town
303 Romero Street NW (upstairs) in suite N208
Albuquerque, NM 87104

To register you may use the PayPal link, or contact the instructor.

Sign-up early, class sizes are limited to 12 participants

Upcoming Class Information

Back by popular request is Janet Worne's "Holistic Photography: Finding Yourself in Your Art". This class, originally scheduled in May, is now going to be held on Wednesday, June 19th, 6-8:30 PM. This workshop is about identifying your own distinctive style, learning where it comes from and how to use it. Also discussed will be ways to get yourself into a mental state that allows the best of yourself to shine in your art. As National Geographic photographer, Sam Abell once said, “Who we are is the most important thing about photography”.

This two and a half hour class, held at the Albuquerque Photographers’ Gallery, is geared toward intermediate to advanced photographers who have been photographing long enough for a style to emerge. Participants should bring 8-10 prints of their favorite photos for in-depth evaluation.

Date: Wednesday, June 19th, 2013, 6-8:30 PM.
Cost: $45 (plus NM Gross Receipts tax)
Limit: 8 participants
Instructor: Janet Worne

Kent Winchester
kent.winchester@gmail.com / www.landofclearlight.com
Kent marks the third generation of professional photographers in his family. His grandfather documented World War I and the Dust Bowl; his father, a B-24 pilot in World War II, documented that war, returning home to run the family photography business; and Kent has been shooting since he was seven. A member of the Albuquerque Photographers’ Gallery, his award-winning work has been shown in galleries and museums, and collected internationally. A trial lawyer for thirty years, he returned to fine art photography full-time; teaching, judging, and, of course, making photographs. He has photographed nudes for almost forty years both with his beloved Hasselblad and digitally.
