“Sunshine, summer, tropical ambiance – how can so much be contained in a simple photograph of ferns?” is how a fellow-photographer described it. While hiking in Abel Tasman National Park on the South Island of New Zealand it felt almost like entering a “Jurassic Park” movie. Surrounded by giant fern trees, some higher than a four-story building, I captured this tiny bit with its translucent leaves illuminated by the sun. Luckily no prehistoric predators came rushing out of the forest!
